Housemates Review (Another Huli game, oh no...)
But... Oh yea... Non-detailed Spoilers inside...
Last time on Pervert City’s adventures with Huli’s games… I absolutely FUCKING HATED the ending to Plastic Soul… So… Huli sent me another game. Why? Why would you risk that, Huli? But ok… Let’s review HOUSEMATES and will I learn something along with way? Let’s find out.

First, I was greeted by a somewhat creepy and moderately perverted college aged douchebag kid named Kevin. (Wait just a minute.) Then you are introduced to his actual landlady (not mom) Nora. (Can’t be a coincidence.) Immediately after, you are introduced to his dark complected roommate in which you can name. I chose Zorah. We are 2/3 with Projekt Moon Hope Awakens references, why not 3/3.
After that you follow the formula Huli did with Plastic Soul, but you have two women and not an android. Eventually you learn their schedules and max out talking to them. Gameplay can get grindy, but not to the point where it is BAD grind. You feel like you are working to grow a relationship with 2 women. The realism is actually cool.
You then grind to meet the 5th event which locks you into an ending with one of the two girls. You can go back and see the other, then you unlock an ending with both. There is also a “4th ending” but given my prior experience and what it was teasing… I figured I enjoyed the fun and wholesome 3 main endings and was going to avoid the 4th “secret ending” because Plastic Soul left that level of impression on me.
The art is unique and very Huli. His style is his own and personally, I like it. It’s his own thing and is more than efficient at telling the story. He also did animations and that’s got to be hard, given this is from drawn art. So… I am pretty forgiving with hand drawn art. I feel its the best of any art option. Music was sufficent, but I admit I was listening to a twitch stream while I played half of the time. Now time for a peek into what you are curious to see…
Much like with Plastic Soul, I do not have issues with the sex scenes either. They are solid and hot. They do their job and nothing more, which is fine. This time “threesomes” are offered if you level things up enough…
Overall, it’s Plastic Soul… But the ending didn’t make me literally go to bed and contemplate the meaning of life. Like, is it worthwhile to be alive when we are die in the end anyway?? (Ok, I checked grammar. Saw this and felt like this was Korone saying this, so I will leave it in.)
Shit, that got totally dark. Well, maybe I wouldn’t have……….
Wait just a minute.
Housemates was about overcoming bad events by talking it out and gaining meaningful relationships to circumvent the issues you once had. This Kevin didn’t need a torture sequence and superpowers. He overcame things with love. Well, Huli. I forgive the ending of Plastic Soul, as if it matters. This was very good… excellent even.
New PC Councilor and we overcame our past with love.
= Asia.
